Know Your Sexual Health Rights

Posted on August 10th, 2016 by IMPACT in Life & HIV. No Comments

Know your rights! Many LGBT youth don’t know their sexual health rights – especially around HIV prevention, testing, and medical care. The first video in our Life & HIV” series, spells it all out – from parental consent to free condoms.
Some questions discussed in this video:
  • Can I consent (give permission) to get tested for HIV, or do I need a parent or guardian’s permission?
  • If my test results are positive, will my parent or guardian be notified?
  • If I seek treatment at the doctor, will the doctor tell my parent or guardian?

You have a right to receive services without judgement, regardless of your sexual orientation or gender identity!
