Growing Up Gay in America: HRC Resource
The HRC released a report this week examining the difficulties faced by LGBT youth in the U.S. and highlighting the resiliency of these youth. The online survey, taken by more than 10,000 youth participants (13-17 years old), shows the enormous societal impact on the well-being of sexual minority youth in the U.S. It is the largest known sample of LGBT youth from every region of the U.S. and from a wide variety of social, cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. The HRC puts it well that,
“the findings are a call to action for all adults who want [to] ensure that young people can thrive.”
The online embeddable viewer (below) of the PDF is a terrific way to share this information online and across educational settings, teachers workshops, and community centers. The colorful infographics and strong design layouts make the report great for distribution.
