The 2012 Chicago LGBTQ Health and Wellness Conference took place on November 30, 2012 at Center on Halsted. The conference was co-organized by the IMPACT Program at Northwestern University and the Sexual Orientation and Gender Institute (SOGI) at Center on Halsted, and co-sponsored by a number of Chicago area universities and health centers. The purpose of this interdisciplinary event was to foster the education and engagement of Chicago-area students, faculty, and providers involved in LGBTQ health research by providing a forum for their scholarly work.

The day included a welcome breakfast; plenary address by Dr. Bechara Choucair, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health; sessions for student presentations, and a closing lunch during which students had the opportunity to meet with other scholars and faculty with common research interests to facilitate mentorship and networking.
