Know Your Status!

Posted on November 6th, 2012 by Krystal in Featured, Youth Blog. No Comments

Nearly 70% of  young men who have sex with men (YMSM) who are HIV positive are unaware that they are infected with HIV (CDC, 2010). The only way to be sure of your status is to get tested. Knowing your status, whether positive or negative, will help you make the best decisions for your health.

Center on Halsted is now offering Keep It Up! (KIU!), a new multi-media, Internet-based HIV prevention project that helps YMSM (ages 18-24) who recently tested negative learn how to continue to make healthy choices and stay negative. The KIU! website is engaging and interactive with information presented in various formats like games, animation, and videos.  Keep It Up! is entirely online giving participants the flexibility to choose when and where to complete it. Participants who complete KIU! will receive up to $40 in gift cards.

To enroll in the project , call Center on Halsted’s Testing Hotline at 1-773-661-0910
