Trans Stigma, Health, and Coping
This one-year project examines experiences of stigma encountered by individuals who are transgender (trans) or gender nonconforming. This research provides important insights into the stressful experiences encountered by trans and gender nonconforming individuals, how people cope with these experiences, and the processes that explain how stressful experiences impact health in a variety of areas.
This work is community-informed, with local trans individuals serving on a Community Advisory Board, providing input on the focus of the project and research questions. If you live in Chicago and interested in joining the Community Advisory Board for this project, contact Jae Puckett for more information. If you are at least 16 years old and live in the US and are interested in participating in the study, please fill out a few questions, and we will be in touch with you within 48 hours.
