ChiGuys is recruiting 600 young men in Chicago and surrounding areas using two recruitment strategies: respondent-driven sampling and targeted advertising on Facebook.

The study aims to determine the most efficient strategies for recruiting and surveying adolescent young men in order to inform future waves of CDC’s NHBS efforts. Additionally, the study seeks to estimate the prevalence and incidence of HIV in this population, as well as behavioral predictors of HIV risk behavior and HIV infection. This innovative adolescent extension of CDC’s NHBS is also being conducted in New York City and Philadelphia.
